Rarely have Belgium conceded so much in a World Cup match. Statistics state that the Red Devils suffered 22 shots towards their own goal during the match against Canada. It hadn’t happened for 24 years, during the Benelux derby against the Netherlands, also in the group stage of the 1998 World Cup in France. Also in that case the goal remained clean, even if Belgium did not go beyond the 0-0.
