presentation of the match and forecast

After the bad impression made in Russia four years ago, Germany wants to return to being a protagonist at the World Cup. The first obstacle is Japan for the team coached by Hans-Dieter Flick, in the group that includes Spain among others.

Being eliminated in the first round of a World Cup is something Germany were not at all used to and the negative precedent of four years ago in Russia sounded the alarm bell in Germany so that the thing does not happen again in this Qatar edition. However, it is difficult to imagine another premature ouster of the national team coached by the former Bayern Munich coach Hans-Dieter Flick because, apart from Spain, the group does not present any pitfalls such as to be able to frighten the Germans excessively. Japan and Costa Rica, however, are two national teams that should not be underestimated, also because they are two national teams that have now accumulated some experience in the final stages of the world championships.

Germany will play its first match against the Asians and there is a great desire to do well and to definitively erase the shock of 4 years ago. The Germans dominated their qualifying group, winning 27 points out of the 30 available and finishing 9 points ahead of Macedonia, who then proved fatal to us in the playoffs. A continuity which, however, was not repeated in the Nations League, where Germany finished in third place in the iron group behind Italy and Hungary and ahead only of England, failing to access the Final Four. Japan, on the other hand, is in its seventh consecutive participation in the World Cup and on 3 occasions out of 6 they have managed to overcome the group stage to reach the knockout stage. Objective that is very difficult to achieve in this edition, due to the presence of Germany and Spain in the group which, at least on paper, precludes many possibilities.
