Rome, November 25th – The collection of bets on the first day of the World Cup in Qatar is estimated at 150 million euros by operators authorized in Italy. A positive figure, despite the absence of the national team. According to what Agipronews learns from industry sources, the most played match of this phase is Germany-Japan, with around 30 million euros in total bet – both pre-match and live. Great interest also for Argentina-Saudi Arabia, with 25 million, while on the opening match between Qatar and Ecuador the Italian bookmakers collected around 15 million euros. In the 2018 edition in Russia, total wagers were €466m, a figure that doubled that of 2014, when total betting volume on the World Cup in Brazil stood at €267m.
